ANOTHER RACE 2 PLACE IN THE BOOKS!
Thanks to mother nature, a dedicated group of volunteers and almost 300 walkers and runners – you put the smile at the end of the sentance for the 2012 Race 2 Place event. We had near perfect weather and a great turnout for this 2nd year event with lots of great ideas for making it bigger and better next year.
- Top Overall Female / 5K Race
The addition of chip timing took the event to a new level for our competitive runners and a bounce castle and face painting kept the fun in the day for our smallest participants. Thanks to everyone for your patience at check in. We were pleased to experieince lots of smiles and relatively no issues.
A special shout out to our Top Overall 5 K female winner, Abigail Treffry — who was the actual overall female winner but missed out on her award when the category was misread. WOW Abby…11 years old and you’re already winning races with top adult runners. Abby’s offical time was 23:57 — an impressive pace of 7 min and 43 seconds per mile!
